WhatsApp has launched the “Chat Filters”, a feature that the popular instant messaging app wants to help users stay up to date with the latest messages and news in their chats.
According to WhatsApp, in a blog post, thanks to the new filters, app users will be able to find “the most important conversations” more easily, divided into three categories:
- All: the default view for all your messages.
- Unread: the perfect option when you want to see which conversations you need to catch up on or which ones you need to respond to. It shows messages that you have marked as unread or that you haven’t opened yet, so you can prioritize your responses.
- Groups: a highly requested feature. Now all your group chats will be organized in one place, making it easier to find your favorites, whether it’s your weekly family dinner or planning your next vacation. Subgroups of communities will also be included here.
The “groups” filter is possibly one of the most useful additions. And it is that, with the increase in the use of WhatsApp, especially in Western markets, more and more people are creating group chats, and it can be difficult to keep up with everything your friends, family, and coworkers say when you haven’t entered the app for several hours.
