Google has announced this week the date of the Google I/O 2024, its annual developer conference. According to the official website, the conference will take place exactly in two months, on May 14th.
However, beyond the event date, there isn’t much information available. The “About” section reveals that Google I/O 2024 will be an exclusively online event, including the keynote speech and various scheduled panels. The official Google developer blog states that the event will include “over 100 sessions, workshops, codelabs, and demos” that can also be viewed on demand after their completion.
We will also know practically nothing about what will be revealed or what will be discussed during Google I/O. In the Google developer blog post, the “Gemini era” is mentioned, so it is expected that more information and announcements will be made about Google’s plans for its Gemini projects, its generative AI. However, it is guaranteed that we will know more about Android 15, its next operating system for mobile devices.
Within the usual speculations, it is most likely that we will know more about Google’s future devices. According to a series of rumors, the company would be working on the Pixel 8a, which could be officially announced at Google I/O 2024.
