We had been without news of Black Myth: Wukong for quite some time, that Souls-like video game developed in China that astonished millions of players with its impressive initial gameplay. Since that video a couple of years ago, a lot has happened – well, depending on the region you’re in, not that much unfortunately – but the important thing is that thanks to IGN, we have a new gameplay video… and yes, it still looks amazing.
This new video once again showcases the game in all its splendor, from a wide array of movements to dozens of different enemies. In fact, the latter is one of the most striking aspects; we can witness a great variety of hostile forces against the player, with special attention given to the “final” phase bosses.
The game makes full use of Chinese mythology to bring the best of the existing imagery. It’s not just about rendering them with great realism, but they seamlessly fit within the gameplay concept that is being presented.

Accompanying this new gameplay, the folks at Game Science, the development studio, have also launched their official Steam page. Thanks to this, we’ve been able to see new images from the game that hadn’t been revealed until now. Yes, it has that unmistakable good ‘souls’ vibe based on everything shown, but we’ll have to wait until we get our hands on it to truly know. Fortunately, attendees at Germany’s Gamescom will have the chance to do just that.
Black Myth: Wukong is still slated for a release in the upcoming year 2024. Developed using Unreal Engine 5 as its foundation, the game is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC. Anticipation is building as we look forward to learning more.
