WhatsApp released a new update on Monday that includes a series of new features and fixes, especially on iOS. One of the highlights of the update is the ability to fast forward and rewind a video, which will be very helpful if we want to search for something specific.

After being in testing phase since last year, the feature has finally arrived for all WhatsApp users, both on iOS and Android. Although the feature is not reflected in the changelog of Google Play Store, at Softonic we have been able to verify that it is also available on Android.

With the update installed on March 25th, WhatsApp should allow you to fast forward/rewind by double tapping the edge of a video, just like in apps like YouTube. According to WhatsApp, this feature will be available worldwide in the coming weeks, so you don’t have to be patient if you don’t have it yet.

Along with this new feature, WhatsApp has also included a lot of improvements and bug fixes, as well as the ability to start conversations and interact with Meta AI and AI bots from Mac (exclusive feature of WhatsApp for iOS). These are the other new features that the new WhatsApp update (iOS) brings:

• Now you can see the chat options menu when you hover over the chat list.

• Improved spacing and “hover” states in Call History and States.

• Fixed an issue where the cursor would disappear after clicking on an emoji suggestion.

• Fixed an issue where the text of a quoted message would sometimes extend outside of the message.

• Fixed an issue where messages would sometimes duplicate when editing the comment of a multimedia file.

• Fixed an issue that prevented exiting the application when it expired.

• Fixed an issue where reactions sometimes did not appear in message previews.

• Fixed an issue where the toolbar was sometimes dimmed.

• Fixed an issue where the cancel button was hidden when resending multimedia files.
