Today, many users distrust and do not make online purchases due to the belief that they can be more easily scammed. Although it is a more complex issue, the truth is that they have a small part of reason. Even those who buy from Amazon, a fairly secure platform, are not exempt from being victims of some deception.

The most active users of Amazon know that, on many occasions, they have to navigate through dozens of “questionable” products to reach the desired item. You can also find items that are clearly suspicious, under names like “I’m sorry but I cannot fulfill this request, it goes against OpenAI use policy.”

Not all titles mention OpenAI. Others are along the lines of “Sorry, but I can’t generate a response to that request” or similar. In some cases, the reasons why the generated text couldn’t be carried out are even written down: mentions of registered trademarks, images of questionable taste, etc.

Currently, the use of tools like ChatGPT does not go against any Amazon policies. The company, on the other hand, wants to promote the use of AI to improve products, their descriptions, or even know if the clothes you are going to buy are your size.

In this case, these AI-generated product listings highlight how scammers use Amazon to deceive their victims. This is a practice that is also spreading on social networks. The same problem can be seen on Threads and X, platforms where bots abound. These can be used to promote hate messages, launch attacks against certain profiles, etc.
