One of the most captivating series on Disney Plus is The Bear. Beyond the Star Wars and Marvel fictions, and Disney’s own originals, it stands out as one of the great surprises on the platform since its launch. Last year, it managed to win dozens of awards worldwide, even securing the Golden Globe. And the just-released second season aims to achieve the same success.

The Bear has just arrived on Disney Plus with a fresh batch of episodes that will attempt to match the success of the first season. However, many are wondering whether it will achieve the same level of success as the initial episodes, or if it will fall behind and fail to do so. In the following, we analyze what is most likely to happen.

A very different season from the previous one

The first season of The Bear concluded with Carmy discovering a stash of money hidden by her late brother. At that moment, she decides to transform her sandwich shop into a high-end restaurant, thus returning to her culinary roots. This sets the stage for a new season that promises to be vastly different from what we’ve seen before.

Carmy’s entry into the world of haute cuisine undoubtedly marks a significant shift in the series, potentially making it even more intriguing. However, it also carries the risk of losing the enchantment that captivated viewers in the early episodes. As a result, there are two distinct possibilities for what might unfold next.

The first possibility, of course, is that it becomes a resounding success. The formula from the first season worked flawlessly, and it’s evident that Disney Plus knows how to craft a winning storyline. Naturally, the frenetic camerawork and action-packed sequences could translate intriguingly into the realm of haute cuisine.

However, the opposite scenario could unfold: such a drastic change might result in the series not working at all. Part of The Bear’s charm was witnessing a chef navigate through conditions that weren’t ideal for them, and this essence could be entirely lost with the introduction of new plots. Either way, we’ll find out very soon.
