It seems that Windows is slowly moving towards the release of Windows 11 22H2, which is also known as Sun Valley 2. The Windows 11 Preview build 22567 was recently made available to Insiders on the Dev channel. Now, we’re seeing another update pointing towards a wider rollout.

Update KB5012427 is the second Cumulative Update Build for Windows 11 and is available for Windows Insider’s signed up to the Dev Channel. This latest update will take Windows 11 up to build 22567.200. However, in a surprising move, Microsoft will not make this update available to everyone – not even all Insiders.

That’s right. In a second update to the original blog post in which they announced the release of Windows 11 Build 22567, Microsoft revealed the last update. Amanda Langowski and Brandon LeBlack from Microsoft gave more information on the most recent update. They finished off by saying that Windows Insiders on Home edition will not be able to install the Build 22567.1 or 22567.2 updates.

This announcement also revealed that this latest update would not bring anything new to the current Windows 11 build. It’s purely an update to test the servicing pipeline for builds in the Dev Channel. This means that the update is purely for Microsoft’s benefit rather than the users.

There was no explanation for why Insiders on the Home edition are being excluded from this update. It does look more likely that Microsoft is getting ready for a more extensive rollout sometime soon. We look forward to seeing how the OS progresses further.

For now, you can take a look at some of the upcoming Windows 11 features. If your computer is lagging, check out how to remove preinstalled apps from Windows 11.

Born and raised in South Africa I am the mother of two busy kids and one loving husband. Since leaving school I immediately started working and have been involved in many different industries where I learned a wide range of skills. Some of my skills range from marketing to management and even teaching special needs children, particularly those with severe developmental delays. I am a self-proclaimed holiday nut, taking any chance I can get to decorate and celebrate major holidays such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas, often planning these months in advance! I have a wide range of passions that I persue (as often as I can) such as reading, writing, bonsai, crafting, creating natural beauty products, listening to music and playing games (prefered platforms being PC and Xbox).
