One of the most interesting points when launching a video game based on a real location is to see how it has been recreated. We’ve all seen how Assassin’s Creed cities are recreated in real life, even more so if we’ve had the opportunity to visit the location in question. Now, this is brought to New York thanks to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The recreation that Insomniac Games has done again of the American city is impressive. Its main enclaves are once again represented in the video game, such as the city’s avenues, the imposing Central Park or the most emblematic skyscrapers, as well as bridges or even some buildings that only exist in Peter Parker’s world.
In this sense, another of the details that we were eager to know was how New York City had evolved from the first installment to the second. After all, we are talking about a video game released in 2018 that later had a remastering for PlayStation 5 (and this without counting Miles Morales). In addition, to this we must add the changes that the characters themselves had undergone.
To learn about these differences, the popular youtuber Nick930 has uploaded a comparison between both Spider-Man video games (which can be seen above). As is logical, there is a clear change between the two deliveries, not only because it has been developed with PlayStation 5 as the starting platform, but also because there is a higher density of pedestrians, more details and the possibility of better recreating everything.
We must not forget that while the first installment did not leave Manhattan, this second one also visits other places such as Queens and Brooklyn. Thus, there are locations that have not been explored to date.
