It is one of the most anticipated moments of the last years, as we have been covering this product for almost a decade: from when it was just a rumor, until it became a reality last year.
The long-awaited Apple mixed reality glasses, the Vision Pro, are now available for pre-order in the United States through the company’s website and in all of its stores in the country.
Interested buyers should note that they need to scan their face with an iPhone or iPad using Face ID when placing the pre-order to ensure that the band fits accurately to their head.
The company has designed the Vision Pro with a modular system so that users can customize it and adapt it to their needs; after all, the version with 256 GB of storage will cost at least $3,499, so everyone expects perfection.
Operating system, lens adjustment, and unavailable services
People who need visual correction also have the option to add Zeiss optical inserts when they pre-order, so they no longer have to wear glasses inside the headset. They can purchase reading lenses for $99 and prescription lenses for $149, but they must attach an updated official prescription to the order in order to purchase them.
The company’s glasses work with visionOS, which users can control through eye and hand gestures or voice commands via Siri.
Apple placed a lot of emphasis on its entertainment features when it officially unveiled the device and said it will be compatible with over a million applications from the iOS and iPadOS ecosystems, along with specially created apps for its platform.
Some popular services like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify will not be available for download at launch, but early users will have access to a range of entertainment apps, such as Disney+, Max, Amazon Prime Video, and Paramount+.
Users will be able to place their applications anywhere in a 3D environment and, in the case of Disney+, watch shows on a special immersive background like the Avengers Tower. They will also be able to access their Mac from the glasses. The Apple Vision Pro will start being sold on February 2nd.
