Darkest Dungeon is a grim and merciless tactical strategy game whose great tension comes from its many layers of complexity, unpredictable randomization, and willingness to put our fragile characters in mortal danger if we dare to venture into its depths in search of treasure and glory. Brilliant narration and stiff yet surprisingly expressive animation make it easy to be drawn into its vague but tantalizing world, though the end feels artificially out of reach. More

I have been looking for a good game with a setting I liked. This is exactly what I was looking for, and I love steam so it's a win win.

I love this game. I know it's not without its share of flaws but the gameplay really makes up for it. The game has 16 unique classes, dozens of dungeons and a good array of enemies to fight. If you like dungeon crawlers, you'll enjoy this. More

I found this to be a mixed bag, overall. It's beautiful and the story telling is superb. I found combat to be a tedious grind and the game really dragged in places, though. Only Lovecraftian in a sense. There's a lot of Victorian horror here, but it doesn't really have the alien, inhuman hopelessness and despair one would expect from a Lovecraft inspired game. More

Sunless Sea is a cool game that is very Lovecraftian in style and design. You might even call it steampunk. You can lose yourself for hours in the complex story line. More
by Doris Kelly
The depth of atmosphere in Sunless Sea is absolutely astounding. If you are into Lovecraft, the lore and sense of scale of this game will really appeal to you. As you explore the vast world and piece together the story, the vastness of the unknown really becomes apparent. More

There is some visual variety in Sundered as you end up working your way through three major zones that differ widely in their aesthetic. Each zone serves as a welcome break from the previous one, thanks in part to the environmental differences in each. Sundered is a hard game, to a degree that isn't apparent when you make your first forays into the depths and slice individual monsters. More
by Pamela Coleman
Sundered is not a good Lovecraft based game. It's not creative enough, having entirely too much repetition at times, there's not enough creativity with the enemies either. There are much better options on Steam. More

The world H.P. Lovecraft created is an exceptional dark one with unparalleled occult content. A central figure in much of the Lovecraft lore is Cthulhu, a supremely malevolent being. I have wanted nothing more than to dive into an immersive world centered around the Lovecraft world. I have finally found a game that is set in this world on the video game platform Steam. This is great because I frequently use Steam to purchase and organize my library of games and finding Call of Cthulhu: Shadow of the Comet was a great addition and I have played this game for hours. The price was unbeatable (75% off!!!) and allows me to wander through a game set in a perfectly creepy Lovecraft environment. More

Lovecraft was a master of horror but was never recognized. This is a game that truly is inspirational to Lovecraft and his work. The whole time you play you have an eerie foreboding of something to come.. More

Cthulhu is awesome and one of the most under-appreciated horror / mythological figures of the 20th century. It's interesting that since the advent of social media there have been so many new interpretations in print, games, and videos. For this 'solution' I gave only 3.5 stars because it is a direct link to a single Lovecraft-themed game. There is no comparison versus other games, so how do we know this particular one is the best? An old-school horror game that would otherwise be fun but the numerous bugs throughout make it an exercise in frustration. Many levels have places where progress will freeze because of them, and for whatever reason the issues are worse on newer systems. After just a few plays I'd had enough of the headaches. Look elsewhere. More

Opening sequence is very creepy. Intense graphics and scary story line. Easy to imagine yourself in this one...a little too easy, which makes it downright terrifying. More

This game is just an okay Lovecraft game in my opinion and the price is a reflection of that. I am not saying it is a terrible game it is just not my first choice. More

If you're a fan of Lovecraft, and you like platform style 2D moving games, you would enjoy playing Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. There is a large map to explore which means you'll do some backtracking as you upgrade your ship with gear that will open what were previously dead ends. But it's an overall enoyable game. More

You will need to use your imagination on this steamy product. Exceptional 2D.
by Terry Pierce
I believe that I would like this game because of the inclusion of puzzles that must be solved before you can proceed. This adds an extra dimension to the game and gives the players the opportunity to flex their mental powers i n problem solution. More

Great game with a deep storyline, requiring thought and puzzle solving. This game is different than the usual action filled games, but in a good way. Great visuals. More
