The problems at Nvidia don't stop and this 5000 generation seems cursed

Players who have recently purchased an Nvidia RTX 5070 have reported an increase in the frequency of blue screen of death (BSOD) and black screen issues following a recent Nvidia driver update.
This problem has mainly affected the RTX 50 cards in an issue that seems to be broader than initially thought. Various comments on forums like Reddit indicate that users are experiencing different types of failures, making it difficult to identify a common cause.
A representative from Nvidia on Reddit suggested that users could resolve these issues by updating their GPU’s vBIOS or waiting for new drivers that would be released soon.
A software error: waiting for an update
Some users have managed to fix their issues by downgrading PCIe versions in the BIOS or restoring previous drivers. However, Nvidia has not yet confirmed the exact nature of this problem, although indications suggest that it may be related to a software-level error.
The situation is further complicated by reports of defects in the design of the connector and the silicon, which cannot be resolved through software and may be impacting the performance of the GPUs. Despite the difficulties, some users have reported that updating the vBIOS has resolved their black screen issues, although this varies by graphics card manufacturer.
On another front, the RX 9070 series from AMD is being positioned as an alternative for budget-conscious consumers, rivaling Nvidia’s RTX 5070 line.
It is rumored that their performance figures are promising, although we will have to wait for the offer and prices at launch to form a definitive opinion. The growing competition between these two companies could provide consumers with more options in a market characterized by scarcity and rising prices.
