I have to admit that I was completely caught off guard by the fact that there are people very angry about a background detail in a ‘Tomb Raider 3’ scenario, but here we are. It turns out that Crystal Dynamics has released an update for ‘Tomb Raider I-III Remastered’ in which, without warning, they have removed something that seems crucial for the proper functioning of the game: sexy posters of Lara Croft.

No, it’s not a joke: it turns out that in the new game update, during the fourth level, ‘Sleeping with the Fishes’, the publisher has removed some provocative images of the heroine in the remastered version, leaving the walls blank. However, if you switch back to the original graphics, they appear there, in all their pixelated glory.

And of course, on Twitter people have gotten very angry because there is no longer any way to obtain erotic images of Lara Croft beyond that specific level of the third part of ‘Tomb Raider’. Of course, disguised as “hate towards original fans” and “a way to steal our content“. Furthermore, there are those who claim that Crystal Dynamics must go bankrupt because they have ruined the game forever.

I would never align myself with these people in my life, but… they have a point, within the foolishness of getting upset over three posters. And it is that the company not only maintains other stereotypes that in 1998 were not so offensive and now they are, but also, they released an article highlighting their attention to detail in adapting the game precisely using these posters as an example.

For now, the mods have already taken action to return them to where they were, but fans are still wondering why. And until they have an answer, they will continue to encourage the boycott. Whatever it takes to see Lara Croft lying on her back, I suppose.
