Netflix has saved one of the biggest series it has ever made for 2024. The Three-Body Problem, the adaptation of the science fiction novel by Chinese writer Liu Cixin, will arrive on Ted Sarandos’ streaming platform on March 21st. But, in the meantime, there is another way to watch the series… or at least a very similar one.
While Netflix was making its own adaptation with the creators of Game of Thrones, the technology company Tencent has also developed another adaptation of the same novel: The Three-Body Problem. This series is already available on YouTube, through the WeTV channel and on Rakuten Viki.
The Chinese version of The Three-Body Problem
Three Bodies tells the same story as the Netflix series, but through thirty episodes and with a completely Chinese production. The truth is that it has very good reviews: it has a rating of 9.3 out of 10, and many believe that it will be a more faithful adaptation than Netflix’s.
