Cyberpunk 2077 is undoubtedly the game with one of the worst launches in recent history. It generated immense hatred and disappointment due to a completely disastrous and unjustifiable release. Now, three years later, we are receiving the highly anticipated 2.0 update and the most ambitious DLC to date.
But before CD Projekt Red releases the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, they will first launch an update that introduces massive changes to the action role-playing game.
The developer has announced that Update 2.0 will be available starting on September 21st, and it will be free for all those who already own the game. This patch adds new skill trees and perks that have not been seen in the game before.
It also overhauls the police system in the universe to operate according to what the developer describes as “clear and simple rules.”
Everything that comes with patch 2.0
The game’s interface will now display the probability of the police pursuing a player through a star system displayed on the screen. Those who reach the maximum Heat level – 5 stars – will encounter a Max Tac mini-boss experience.
Update 2.0 also provides players with new ways to eliminate enemies from their vehicles. They can now shoot their weapons from the back of their motorcycles and through their car’s windshield or side window. They can also use new mounted weapons for certain Nomad cars.
Netrunners, on the other hand, can hack and take over their enemies’ cars and make them explode. In addition to all of this, the update also includes improvements to the user interface and user experience, new loot, changes to crafting, and new radio stations.
Don’t confuse Phantom Liberty with 2.0
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, on the other hand, adds a new story, characters (including one inspired by Idris Elba), and missions to the game. It will be available on September 26th and costs 30 euros.
And, as we say in the headline, both contents should not be confused. Update 2.0 is a patch that comes to redesign and improve the game, also adding new features.
And Phantom Liberty is a paid expansion with more stories and new missions. This one is paid, while patch 2.0 is free.
