Borderlands 4 was not what players expected and Gearbox is trying to make it up to them

Borderlands 4, the fifth main installment of the popular Gearbox Software saga, was released last week. However, its arrival has not been without issues. Several players have reported difficulties related to the game’s performance and optimization, which has led to some criticism towards Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford. In response to the complaints, Pitchford suggested in the least friendly way possible that those facing these problems should play another game.

Gifts to Minimize Complaints

The players’ discontent is not limited to optimization. There have been discovered builds that allow some characters, like Vex, to reach unprecedented damage levels, which has raised concerns about game balance. The community is divided, with some players enjoying these mechanics, while others feel frustrated by the lack of a balanced gameplay environment.

Despite these controversies, Gearbox has taken steps to calm fans. The company has released Shift codes, which allow players to redeem useful in-game items, such as the ‘Break Free Pack’, in celebration of over 764 million loot items looted in Borderlands 4 to date. This pack includes a new design for vault hunters, a legendary shield, and additional skins.

This approach by Gearbox, which focuses more on rewarding players than on criticizing their problems, has been well received. The company aims to improve the gaming experience and maintain community interest, while ensuring that players stay informed about future offers and codes available on social media and during online events.
