Capcom has “a major unannounced game”: what could it be? Here are some possibilities

It’s the season for companies worldwide, including video game companies, to release their financial reports. One of the latest to disclose its results is Capcom, the Japanese company famous for franchises like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Megaman. The reason we mention this is because the company has announced that there is “a major unannounced game.”

In the latest financial report, Capcom indicates that this “major game” would be announced before the end of the fiscal year. Considering that for the company, the fiscal year ends on March 31, 2024, this means there are only five and a half months left for this supposed bombshell – according to them – to hit the market.

In this document, Capcom states that they expect to sell 45 million units of this video game on consoles during that fiscal year. This data is crucial for one reason: to reach these numbers, the title has to be significant, which narrows down the possibilities to a few franchises. But which one could it be?

There are two names above the rest, and then a third one that could also cause a lot of excitement. Among the first two, the franchises with the most potential to sell are Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. In fact, their games are among the top 5 best-selling games in the entire history of Capcom. The third one could be a new Devil May Cry, especially if we consider that the previous one was released in early 2019, meaning 5 years have passed since its release.

Capcom has always been known in recent years for announcing games that are released shortly after. In this sense, everything indicates that the announcement would take place during The Game Awards, and its release would be in March 2024.
