Happy Women’s Day to all the female warriors out there! To the stay-at-home moms, the boss babes, and the environmental warriors – we see you! Every year on March 8, the world celebrates Women’s Day. This special celebration promotes women’s rights and acknowledges womens’ achievements across political, economic, social, and cultural sectors. Not sure what Women’s Day is? Let’s take a look.

International Women’s Day isn’t anything new. Its origins can be traced to many different socialist movements in the early twentieth century. The United Nations adopted this day in 1977, and thanks to the third and fourth waves of feminism, this day acts as a reminder of the grit and strength of women across the world.

The UN has adopted a different theme to celebrate each Women’s day in the last couple of years. The different themes are based on current women’s rights and related issues. The UN theme for Women’s Day 2022 is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.”

Do you want to share some meaningful and inspirational quotes to uplift and inspire the women in your life? Here are a few of the best quotes to add to your status or send to your WhatsApp contacts as a wish for the day.

  • “Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.” – GD Anderson.
  • “Life is tough, my darling, but so are you.” – Stephanie Bennet-Henry.
  • “Women are the real architects of society.” – Cher.
  • “We realize the importance of our voice when we are silenced.” – Malala Yousafzai.

Let’s continue taking the world by storm and advocating for gender equality globally with these inspirational phrases. We wish you a happy women’s day and hope you take some time to acknowledge and accept the strength and beauty of those around you.

Born and raised in South Africa I am the mother of two busy kids and one loving husband. Since leaving school I immediately started working and have been involved in many different industries where I learned a wide range of skills. Some of my skills range from marketing to management and even teaching special needs children, particularly those with severe developmental delays. I am a self-proclaimed holiday nut, taking any chance I can get to decorate and celebrate major holidays such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas, often planning these months in advance! I have a wide range of passions that I persue (as often as I can) such as reading, writing, bonsai, crafting, creating natural beauty products, listening to music and playing games (prefered platforms being PC and Xbox).
