It doesn’t matter if they speak ill of you as long as they keep talking about you. This popular saying could be applied to games like Diablo 4, which despite being the target of many criticisms during its release, continues to attract thousands of players daily as if nothing happened. Now, the RPG is back in the spotlight for a good reason: we now know when ray-tracing will arrive in Sanctuary.

NVIDIA announced during CES 2024 that Diablo 4 would become compatible with their ray tracing technology. However, there was no release date until now. A post on the official NVIDIA blog has revealed that on March 26th, Diablo 4 will receive this update.

Ray tracing is a graphic technique that allows generating very realistic images. In short, it simulates how light interacts with objects in a scene. It is a widely used technology in the world of video games, movies, and 3D rendering programs. In the case of Diablo 4, some elements such as armors or even the water itself will look more realistic.

In addition to ray tracing, Diablo 4 also supports DLSS 3. This is an exclusive NVIDIA technology that helps improve the frame rate of a game thanks to artificial intelligence. However, this option is reserved exclusively for the GeForce RTX 40 series.

The truth is that NVIDIA has not revealed any details about the performance that Diablo 4 would have with ray tracing enabled. In the video shown during CES in January, the game had an average of 53 to 54 FPS. A number that then increased considerably when DLSS 3 was activated.

At the moment, we don’t know if you will need a NASA computer to see Diablo 4 properly. However, if you have an RTX from the 40 series, you probably won’t have any problems at all.
