Since Bohemian Rhapsody won the Oscar for Best Actor for Rami Malek and became a box office success, Hollywood has entered the era of musical biopics. There is no star today who doesn’t have their own biopic, from Bob Marley to Michael Jackson.

In this context, director Kike Maíllo (Eva, Cosmética del enemigo) will direct Disco, Ibiza, Locomía, a film based on the Spanish group Locomía and promises to be a much crazier film than all the ones we have seen of this style. Full of colors, parties and excess, the film aims to be a portrait of the queer environments of the late 80s in Spain.

The mismatch reaches the big screen

In Disco, Ibiza, Locomía, a group of friends led by Xavi Font (Jaime Lorente) have just arrived in Ibiza chasing their dream of working in the fashion industry. There they are discovered by producer José Luís Gil (Alberto Ammann), a music industry magnate looking for new talents to launch a group. It arrives in theaters on May 17th.
