Dragon Ball is a brand that extends far beyond what we all imagine. Both in video games and in derivative series, movies and even live actions, everything possible has been done with the brand, and that includes the two sequels that have been made of Dragon Ball Z: Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super.

Although we now know that the official sequel is Super, there is another one created by Akira Toriyama himself that has absolutely nothing to do with what we believe is a real sequel to Dragon Ball. Its name is Neko Majin Z, and it is an eight-chapter manga that fans of the saga are familiar with.

Akira Toriyama doing his thing

Neko Majin Z was published from 2001 to 2005, and it is a spin-off series of Dragon Ball that is, in turn, a parody of the adventures of Goku and his friends. Neko Majin Z is reminiscent of Toriyama’s first Dragon Ball, with a style in which the author seems much more comfortable, and in which he perfectly blends humor with the action of his previous series.
