Electronic Arts’ golf game, EA Sports PGA Tour, is all set to kick off its new season. In fact, the Season 7 update will come loaded with new features for all users who were eager for new content and improvements in one of the most popular golf simulators today.
These changes respond to various needs, taking into account user feedback, as well as new seasonal updates that were pertinent to implement for the final months of 2023. Furthermore, on the other hand, elements and mechanics have also been added to further enhance the quality of life for players in EA Sports PGA Tour.
Addition from its new season
The new features coming to EA Sports PGA Tour will be focused on the launch of Season 7, which, as the main element, will leave behind the decorative elements related to the Ryder’s Cup to return to the usual look within the menus. But that’s just the cosmetic aspect of the menus, as there are also many more innovations to mention, such as these:
- The grass interacts with the golf ball and moves as it passes.
- The AI of the golfers will work better around the green.
- Fixed the issue that sometimes caused the player not to receive stars after challenges.
- Issues with online matchmaking have been resolved.
- Skills and cosmetics obtained as prizes can be viewed in a “previous rewards” tab.
- Revised the recovery shot after falling in mud, bunker, rocks, or tall grass.
You will find all the new features in patch 8.0 on the official EA website.
Golf in video games
Golf has always been a niche sport, both in real life and in video games. That’s why there are two very clear sides to it: the purist simulators that try to give a realistic aspect to the sport, or the arcade games that opt for a freer vision that guarantees more fun in a casual way.
An example of the purer aspect would be this game, EA Sports PGA Tour or PGA Tour 2K, which has numerous installments. On the other hand, for golf simulators that are more focused on fun and partying, there are games like Mario Golf on the Nintendo Switch, the golf game in Wii Sports, or iconic series like Everybody’s Golf, present in multiple generations of PlayStation, including the PSP and PS Vita.
