Xbox Game Pass has been one of Microsoft’s most popular services in recent years. Not only has it opened up a whole new market, but it has also changed the way many people consume video games. But Microsoft’s moves over the past year have been, at the very least, difficult to follow. That’s why, now that the new Xbox Game Pass plans have been released, it’s a perfect time to ask ourselves, what does each one of them bring?
The Standard plan, which has just arrived on Xbox Game Pass, replaces the old plan for Consoles. Available for €12.99 per month, it was announced last July and until now it was only available for Xbox Insiders members. Those who have this plan will be able to use the console’s online capabilities, but will not have access to cloud gaming, Microsoft’s launch games, or about a quarter of the catalog.
For those who want to invest less money, there are two options. The PC plan costs €11.99 and gives us access to the entire PC game catalog, with exactly the same possibilities as the console plan —no cloud gaming or Microsoft launch games and a smaller number of games— with an added advantage: access to the EA Play catalog. And for those who only want to access online, the Core plan is available, which for €6.99 allows us to access not only online, but also 25 specially selected titles.
If your interest knows no limits, then you have the most expensive plan. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. With Ultimate, you will have access to the entire game catalog of the service, but not only that. You will also be able to play the entire game catalog in the cloud, access Microsoft games on the launch platform, and also access titles from the EA Play catalog. However, all of this comes at a price. Because the Ultimate plan costs €17.99.
Which plan suits you best depends entirely on your interest and the type of games you want to play. If you want to play in the cloud, you only have one option, if your only interest is to be able to play online, the choice is easy, but from there it all depends on the catalog and what you want. But we hope that this brief summary of the options will help you choose.
