When Square Enix announced a remake in different installments of its classic RPG and then stated that the game would be “divided into sections” to ensure quality at all times, players were a little concerned. This didn’t seem like a decision made for the players, but for the company’s wallet.
The game was released in a single disc on the PS1 and achieved legendary status, so why would they need multiple installments now to replicate the success?
Well, his tactic paid off, and the first title of the “Midgar Saga” was a success, not only because of the graphical improvement, but also because of the new elements that gave substance to that part of the story. So, with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, players expect more of the same.
Goodbye to playing with snowballs in Final Fantasy VII
From everything we have seen so far, the second game in the FF VII saga will be a success. And it’s because all the elements of the title seem updated and even improved to some extent.
However, although there will be several mini-games from the original title, just like in the first game, it has been confirmed that a “classic” mini-game will not be in the title: snowboarding.
This has been revealed by GameInformer. The game director, Naoki Hamaguchi, was asked a bunch of quick questions about the title, and snowboarding was one of them. He said it wouldn’t be included, and if he says so, there’s nothing more to say.
The ironic thing about this is that this minigame was a bit infamous because it happened after THAT scene in the original game, which caught players off guard because of how “carefree” the minigame was despite the trauma they had just experienced.
Therefore, it is possible that the minigame will arrive in the third and final installment of the “remake saga” due to its location within the original title. We will have to wait some time to see if that’s the case.
