Google wants to improve English training for non-native speakers. Considering it’s a fundamental language in today’s times, it’s not surprising that millions of people might be interested in tools that help enhance their English skills. That’s why Google, through its search tool, will allow users to improve their English proficiency.
English is the most important language nowadays, and with Google’s tool, any user can enjoy brief activities to practice the English language. This way, access to languages is made easier, and although it may not be equivalent to classroom lessons, it enables everyone to practice and enhance their English skills.
Short sessions to practice English
This functionality, which will be implemented within Google searches, will allow users to distract themselves for about five minutes by engaging in short activities that will help them practice their English skills. These exercises will be simple and tailored to the level perceived by the AI in the user, allowing them to work at their own pace.
Furthermore, this tool will provide feedback to the user, enabling them to gain more insight into their strengths and weaknesses in the language. It offers a detailed breakdown of each user’s proficiency in English, making it a valuable system for those who want to assess their English proficiency level.
It is not yet available in Spain
“At the moment, this feature is not available in Spain, as the current selection of countries includes Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Indonesia, India, and Mexico. Google, in its blog, does not specify when this feature will be introduced in other countries. However, it can be expected that this feature will gradually expand to more territories where English is not the native language. Moreover, considering it already operates in other Spanish-speaking countries, it shouldn’t take too long to reach other Spanish-speaking nations.
There are also other applications capable of teaching English for free. One of the most famous and popular examples is Duolingo, which is one of the preferred options for learning languages for free. There are also options like Memrise, along with many other applications available in the Google Play Store.”
