Here are some of the most memorable moments from the 2024 Oscars gala. None may be as special as when they mistakenly awarded Best Picture to La La Land when it was actually for Moonlight, but in many cases, they don’t fall behind.
The most anticipated I’m Just Ken… with a very special guest
It was known that Ryan Gosling was going to once again embody his particular Ken by performing I’m Just Ken at the gala, but he certainly did not disappoint anyone with his performance. The actor came out of the audience completely in pink while singing perfectly amidst laughter and winks to his colleagues. And the best part was when, out of nowhere, Slash (the guitarist of Guns n’ Roses) appeared to accompany him. Wonderful.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Paul Giamatti star in the most emotional moment
Paul Giamatti missed out on his likely Oscar because of Cillian Murphy, but he had his emotional moment when he shed dozens of tears watching his co-star Da’Vine Joy Randolph collect the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. An award that was accompanied by a beautiful presentation by Lupita Nyong’o.
John Cena as he came into the world
John Cena, the former WWE wrestler turned blockbuster actor, appeared naked to present the award for best costume. A performance that thanks to Jimmy Kimmel was more funny than embarrassing.
Kate McKinnon, Spielberg and some lost nudes
Seeing the funniest side of Steven Spielberg is always a pleasure, and this time it came from Kate McKinnon. The actress confessed to sending nudes to Jeff Goldblum for Jurassic Park, but according to her, she made a mistake and sent them to Spielberg, who was replying from the audience.
