One of the best video game events held in Europe returns: Gamescom is back in Cologne to celebrate a new edition that also promises to be packed with games and surprises.

The major companies and their developers come together at an event that picks up the torch from our departed E3. As if that weren’t enough, those fortunate enough to attend in person will have the chance to try out the latest playable innovations firsthand. Below, we provide you with the dates, times, and conferences that will take place during Gamescom 2023.

When and where is Gamescom 2023?

If you want to visit Gamescom, start preparing your bags to travel to the city of Cologne, located in Germany. The Koelnmesse convention center will be the venue that hosts Gamescom and its visitors from August 23rd to 27th.

On the official Gamescom website, we can check which days we can attend based on our reason for visiting. During August 21st and 22nd, developer-focused conferences will take place, while August 23rd will be reserved for the press and other professionals. Starting from August 24th onwards, Gamescom will be open to the public (provided they purchase their tickets).

These are the companies and conferences we will see at Gamescom 2023

On August 22nd at 8:00 PM (Spain time), the Opening Night Live event will take place, presented by Geoff Keighley. The seasoned professional has extensive experience leading events such as The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest. You can watch it live through the official channels of The Game Awards on Twitch and YouTube.

Level Infinite has also confirmed that they will host their own conference on August 23rd at 7:00 PM (Spain time). Fans of Assassin’s Creed should stay tuned, as we will see updates about Codename Jade, the mobile title. Ubisoft doesn’t want to miss the event either, so there’s a good chance we’ll get to know more about Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.

Likewise, GamesRadar+ will once again organize its Future Games Show on August 23rd at 8:00 PM (Spain time). Here, we will witness trailers for a multitude of games for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Like the others, you’ll need to visit GamesRadar’s official profile on Twitch and YouTube to watch it.

And speaking of companies, we know that Gamescom will welcome the arrival of one of the most important ones, Nintendo. The gaming giant has been absent from Koelnmesse for three years, so it will be interesting to see what they can showcase during the event.

HoYoverse, the developers behind Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, have confirmed their presence at Gamescom 2023. We can expect to delve deeper into Zenless Zone Zero, one of the titles they are working on.

On the other hand, Xbox and Bethesda will have a substantial booth where the public can try out many new experiences on-site. And if you can’t attend, don’t worry: Xbox will also livestream gameplay and exclusive previews, although the broadcasting schedule is yet to be announced. Could we catch a glimpse of more content from Starfield or The Elder Scrolls?

Bandai Namco will also make their mark. Tekken 8 and Armored Code VI are two titles we can try out very soon, and they will also be available for testing during Gamescom. Other games we will see from the Japanese company include Park Beyond, Sand Land, and Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections. Additionally, CD Projekt will be present with Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, their latest release.

Furthermore, 4A Games (the creators of the Metro saga) have confirmed their presence at Gamescom 2023, and rumors point to a possible announcement of a new installment in the Metro series. The latest title, Metro Exodus, was released in 2019 and stood out as one of the best games of that year.
