Gemini Live: What it is and what you can do with it

In the evolving world of artificial intelligence, Gemini Live is Google’s most natural way to interact with its AI assistant. Unlike traditional text-based chats, this feature allows you to talk to Gemini using your voice, offering a real-time, human-like conversation experience. Whether you’re multitasking or just want a smoother interaction, Gemini Live makes using AI feel effortless and intuitive.

What is Gemini Live?

Gemini Live is a real-time voice assistant mode within the Gemini AI app. When activated, it listens continuously and responds once it detects you’ve stopped speaking. There’s no need to press a button or send messages manually—you simply talk naturally and the AI answers just like a person would. This makes conversations more fluid and accessible, even if your hands are busy or your phone is out of reach.

What you can do with Gemini Live

Gemini Live enables everything the standard version of Gemini does, but with a more spontaneous and conversational approach. You can ask questions, get help with tasks, and follow up naturally without repeating context—Gemini remembers previous parts of the conversation during the session.

New features allow you to activate the camera so Gemini can “see” what’s in front of you, responding to real-time visual input. Additionally, you can share your phone screen with Gemini, letting it assist based on what you’re viewing. Whether identifying objects, troubleshooting an app, or guiding you through settings, Gemini Live adapts to what you need in the moment.

While available to free and paid accounts, some advanced features are exclusive to Gemini Advanced. For now, business accounts are excluded from access.
