Get ready to say goodbye to this Apple connector

More hated than loved, the Lightning connector has become an inseparable part of Apple’s history. However, the natural (and forced) shift towards USB-C is making it less and less necessary in our lives. Now, the Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter has sold out in the United States and for the moment, it doesn’t seem like it will be restocked.

When the iPhone 7 was launched on the market, it received significant criticism from consumers because it completely removed the headphone jack. A problem that Apple had an easy solution for: a Lightning to headphone jack adapter. This was included as standard in the iPhone 7, iPhone 8, and iPhone X, a practice that stopped with the iPhone XS.

For now, the adapter is still available in other countries such as France, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, although it is most likely to be so until stocks run out. According to MacRumors, the SuperDrive followed very similar steps: first it sold out in the United States and then worldwide.

So now you know: if you were interested in buying this specific adapter from an official Apple store, this might be your last chance to do so.
