Have you ordered the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition? You’re in luck, because you’ll have five extra days to practice before the official release. In other words, players who pay that extra money will be ready for the international launch.
That’s right: players who have pre-ordered the expensive premium edition of the fighting game will have an exclusive early access period of five days, allowing them to start fighting from 7 PM in Spain (10 AM PDT / 1 PM ET) on September 14th.
As Thethiny, a Mortal Kombat 1 modder, explains on Twitter, up until now, we only had information from some customer service representatives that there was an early access period available. However, updates made in the online store listings of the fighting game on Steam and Xbox have confirmed what had previously only been rumors.
Interestingly, Thethiny has also discovered that the in-game currency for Mortal Kombat 1 will be called Dragon Crystals, and they will be used to “purchase accessories for your fighter, such as skins, palettes, gear, and much more.
Release date and editions of MK1
The release of Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled for September 19, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and it can be pre-ordered starting tomorrow, May 19.
And as we mentioned, the game will arrive on September 14 for all those who purchase the Premium Edition, which costs about 30 euros more than the base version, with an official price of 99 euros. It’s not a small amount, but it could be worth it due to all the characters that the DLC includes.
