Google continues to strive to provide Android users with the most user-friendly ecosystem possible. In fact, its latest improvement is based on the addition of a search button for suspicious or unknown numbers that call the user, which will allow them to quickly obtain information about whether that number is part of public lists of spam phone numbers.

Currently, spam calls are one of the most annoying aspects of living with a smartphone. In fact, in many cases, people receive more spam calls than desired calls, something that has led companies like Google to put more emphasis on protecting the interests of users, who are increasingly overwhelmed by unwanted calls.

Monitoring spam calls

As the insider Assemble Debug has explained through social media, spam calls continue to be a significant problem that Google is trying to tackle. For this reason, on Pixel phones, which are manufactured entirely by the Californian brand, a new search feature will give users a powerful tool to quickly “hunt down” potentially fraudulent numbers that try to bother the user with unwanted proposals.

This tool is part of the default Pixel features, but other Android devices will also be able to have this function if, in the settings, they choose the Android call system as default, instead of the one provided by the relevant smartphone manufacturer’s customization layer.

Google’s basic improvements

Google is focusing in recent months on providing a useful service by improving some of the basic elements that, being in use for a long time, are often overlooked. For example, after several years of delay compared to other competing systems, Google Chrome will improve the rendering of its texts thanks to a command that has been available in Microsoft Edge for over two years.

In fact, they are also working on providing future Android 15 users with innovative features that have been hidden for years in developer versions, such as being able to turn the smartphone into a functional PC, with windows and the ability to add peripherals.
