Google Play has begun a countdown on the Google Play store offering free or discounted offers for Android users. These offers start today and will run until January 1, 2013.
While it’s unknown what else Google Play will offer for these deals, it looks like it is a push for various apps on Google Play. This could change to highlight other products on the store like movies or magazines.
The first deal is for Hotel Tonight offering $35 towards a hotel booking. If this is any indication, there could be a push of popular apps on Google Play. Since lots of people travel during the holidays, travels apps should prove to be popular if deals are good.
With the release of the new Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and other Android devices that support Google Play, it looks like Google is focused on showing off the Google Play store’s variety of apps other than the popular social networking, music streaming, or gaming apps that take up the majority of the Top Free apps.
