Microsoft celebrates its 50th anniversary since its founding in 1975, and to commemorate this special occasion, it has launched new dynamic anniversary backgrounds that will be available for all players on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X starting April 4. This theme includes iconic characters from the history of video games, such as Master Chief, Marcus Fenix, and Vault Boy, among others, offering users an enriching visual experience that highlights the company’s legacy in the gaming world.
Celebrating Half a Century
According to a statement published on Xbox Wire by editor-in-chief Joe Skrebels, the new theme has been automatically added to the profiles of all Xbox owners, eliminating the need to search for it in the store. Players just need to access the settings menu of their console to enjoy these new custom backgrounds.
In addition to this, Microsoft is offering free Gamerpics, which include nostalgic icons like a floppy disk and Clippy, the company’s famous virtual assistant. This initiative is part of a larger effort by Microsoft to engage users in celebrating its 50 years of technological innovation and entertainment.
As if that weren’t enough, Microsoft Solitaire has also received an update with a 50th anniversary theme, allowing users to customize their cards and make the popular card game feel fresh and relevant. The ability to update the cards with this new theme will surely be well received by those who have enjoyed the game over the years.
These gifts are available right now, allowing Xbox players and Microsoft fans to celebrate the company’s legacy in a fun and visually appealing way. Still, it is rumored that the company may have more surprises in store for players in the future, which raises expectations among the gaming community.
