Although there was a time when they were very popular, exclusively digital competitive card games have been declining over time. With the popularization of autobattlers first, and with the unsuccessful management of the games themselves later, this popularity dropped to the point that today there is practically only one of these games left. And that is Hearthstone.
Because on March 11th, Heartsone turned 10 years old. Launched on March 11th, 2014, this card game based on the Warcraft universe has been one of Blizzard Entertainment’s great successes in the last decade, accumulating 100 million registered players. Being one of the few digital card games that still stand strong, even after its creators left Blizzard to found their own studio and create their biggest competitor to this day: Marvel SNAP.
To celebrate it, all Hearthstone users will find a small gift: 12 special cards created specifically for the occasion, in addition to an exclusive card for each of the classes. But that’s not all. Because for the first time, you can listen to the music of Hearthstone wherever you want, because they have also released Music from the Tavern, a compilation of the game’s music now available on Youtube and Spotify. Thus rounding out this celebration of one of the longest-running games of its kind.
