With over 15 million copies sold to date, Hogwarts Legacy is positioned as one of the best-selling games of 2023 and a huge success. And the streak doesn’t end there, as its release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the previous generation consoles, will undoubtedly contribute to adding thousands, if not millions, of sales to Avalanche’s latest title.

But despite the joy of Xbox, PlayStation, and PC players (who have already had the opportunity to freely explore the magical world of Harry Potter), Nintendo Switch players are not as happy. For the second time, the release of the game on the Nintendo console has been delayed once again.

The launch of Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch was originally planned for April but was eventually pushed back to July 25th. Now, Avalanche has once again delayed the game’s release until November 14th, resulting in a total delay of 7 months for the release of Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo platform.

While the specific reasons have not been disclosed, the tweet from the Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account mentions a commitment to “creating the best possible experience.” This, coupled with the Switch’s longevity and its technical limitations for current-generation games, suggests that Avalanche is putting in significant effort to deliver a high-quality port.

Since it is known that Avalanche is not currently working on any expansions for Hogwarts Legacy, it can be expected that the studio is putting all its efforts into releasing this version for the Switch, and further delays are unlikely. Nonetheless, we will have to wait half a year to see it with our own eyes on the Nintendo console.
