That the iPhone is one of the most successful smartphones in history is no surprise. Since the launch of its first model in 2007, Apple’s handset has continued to reap good sales in the market in general terms. Each release is a milestone that is greeted with joy – now it’s time for the iPhone 15 – but have you ever wondered how many iPhones Apple has sold?

Pulling fiscal reports and data from consulting firms we can know where the figure is around, and the amount is impressive: more than 2,000 million iPhones have been sold since its launch in 2007. To be exact, the people at Gizchina pointed out at the beginning of this year 2023 that the figure reaches 2.32 billion iPhones sold.

Every time Apple releases a new iPhone on the market, tens of millions of the device are sold. However, not all handsets perform equally well. For example, the iPhone 6 has been the most successful of all, with more than 200 million handsets sold. As a curiosity, it was the last to have a headphone jack before the seventh version arrived.

As for the worst in sales, the terminal that has sold the worst to date is, curiously, the last one, the iPhone 14. It is true that it is the one that has been on the market for the shortest time -a very important fact-, but this smartphone was the one that had the worst sales at its launch since the iPhone 5, a statement of intent that speaks for itself that it has not worked very well for Apple.

The Apple company has its sights set on its next iPhone 15. The Cupertino-based company is expected to pull out all the stops to please iPhone owners and motivate them to make the leap to this new model.
