What’s your plan for the weekend: go hiking, go to the nearest movie theater, go shopping at the mall? Here’s another idea: go zombie-charging. No, the day of mass resurrection hasn’t arrived yet, but of ‘Dead Island 2‘, the late sequel to the 2011 game that comes ready to break the mold with a gameplay as fun as it is naughty. And I’m sure you’re already thinking how this could be improved: exactly, by playing with friends.

Alone you can’t, with friends you can

Visiting Los Angeles is all well and good, but visiting L.A. and taking out the undead wherever you look with your buddies is even better. And to get the party started, all you have to do is follow these steps. First, buy ‘Dead Island 2’. Okay, it should be obvious, but you never know.

Start the campaign and complete the missions up to ‘Fight in Bel-Air’ (including this one, don’t be lazy). At that point, a tutorial will explain that you already have the co-op mode unlocked. Quick and easy, right? Get your two most trusted friends together and play through the game together: it’s fully playable in co-op from start to finish.

You can join a game that is currently taking place from the main menu. Click on “Join” and you will either join a random person online or choose a friend from the list of available friends, as you wish. The other option is to start a game yourself: every time you play you will have to choose between playing alone, in a public room where anyone can join, only with friends or by invitation.

So there’s no excuse for you to miss out on brain-mashing with your buddies. Dead Island 2′ is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox X Series and S Series and Microsoft Windows. Almost nothing.
