Today’s televisions have improved enormously in many aspects: higher resolutions, better image quality, more realistic colors, etc. There is also another aspect that will surely have caught your attention, and that is that they are ultra-thin. While this is very eye-catching, it also comes with a problem: less space for speakers.

Although the sound of current televisions is not exactly bad, it can be improved in many aspects. For this, we can use external equipment such as a sound bar. And it is that you really do not need more to enjoy good audio. But where do I place it to get the most out of it?

If you are still deciding which soundbar to buy, here is a comparison between two models from Bose and Sony that might catch your attention. In case you already have your brand new equipment at home, it’s time to put it in place.
The most ideal place to place the sound bar is under your TV. Whether you have it on a piece of furniture or on a wall, the truth is that this is one of the best locations for it. Of course, keep an eye on the height: it is advisable that the bar is placed neither too high nor too low, but at an average height.

Watch where you put the subwoofer
Sound bars have the advantage of allowing us to enjoy great sound without having to place too many devices in a room. However, they also have their weaknesses. Generally, the small size of their speakers does not allow them to emit frequencies below 150 Hz. Therefore, we need a subwoofer that reproduces this range for greater fidelity.
That is why its placement is very important. If we place the subwoofer too far away from the soundbar, we can cause a phase shift that would break the immersion. That is why the best advice is to place the subwoofer as close as possible to your equipment and no more than two meters away. Believe it or not, moving it too far away can generate very strange sensations when consuming any multimedia content (movies, series, video games, etc).

Once you are clear about this, try to make the subwoofer location as uncluttered as possible and have it touch the floor. This will help the surface to transmit the sound better. And if you want to round it all off, don’t settle for one subwoofer and place two. Manufacturers usually only include one next to the soundbar, but a second unit will create an ideal sound space.
