If you are a Netflix user you have surely seen advertised a series with a very particular drawing. Specifically we are talking about a drawing that is identical to the one we see in The Simpsons and Futurama. And it is not plagiarism, it is the same artist.
(Dis)enchantment began its run in 2018 and is the brainchild of Matt Groening (exactly, hence why the drawing style and humor sounds familiar to you) and his frequent collaborator Josh Weinstein.
Set in the medieval fantasy realm of Dreamland, we’ve followed Bean, Elf and Luci through everything thrown at them, with the series slowly building towards a big showdown of our lovable trio defeating Bean’s mother.
Premiere date of Desencanto season 5
Netflix officially announced in early August that the series would come to an end in 2023, with a final 10-episode fifth season set to premiere in early September. Specifically today, September 1.
The finale of Disenchantment will make it the third longest-running adult animated series on Netflix Original, with 50 total episodes, behind only Big Mouth (with 61 episodes and climbing) and Bojack Horseman (77 episodes).
Due to the writers’ strike, Weinstein has not been able to promote the final season of the series, hence why we have heard very little about the series, despite it being its final season.
Synopsis of Disenchantment Season 5
Netflix has provided a lengthy synopsis, which gives us an idea of wha
“It all ends here. The misadventures of the hard-drinking Queen Bean, her feisty elf sidekick Elf and her personal demon Luci culminate in an epic battle for Dreamland.”
“To save Dreamland from Queen Dagmar’s evil rule, Bean must defeat his mother and escape a prophecy that foretells he will kill someone he loves. The stakes are higher than ever as our heroes face Satan, a headless corpse, an evil scientist and, most terrifying of all, their true destiny.”
The fifth part of (Dis)enchantment will consist of 10 episodes and you can already watch all the chapters in one sitting in front of your TV. Don’t waste any more time.
