At the time, we discussed it; now, we confirm it. With the arrival of Xbox Game Pass on Facebook’s virtual reality devices, finally, playing Xbox with VR goggles will become a reality.

Xbox Cloud Gaming arrives today on Meta’s range of virtual reality goggles. This Xbox version is available in a beta version of the cloud gaming app for Meta Quest 2, 3, or Pro goggles.

This will allow you to play hundreds of Xbox games via streaming with a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a controller, and a Quest headset.

How to access Xbox with your Meta Quest

The beta app is available in the Meta Quest store, and you’ll just need to pair a compatible Bluetooth controller to start playing. You can use an Xbox controller, a PS4 controller, or even Nintendo Switch Pro controllers. According to Meta, compatibility with PS5 controllers “will arrive in the future.”

There’s a wide range of screen sizes to create an immersive VR environment for streaming Xbox games, or even a virtual Xbox-themed space in the latest Quest 3 and Pro headsets, which take advantage of color depth.

The Xbox Cloud Gaming app on Meta headsets is part of a broader collaboration between Microsoft and Meta to bring Microsoft Teams, Office, and Windows experiences to virtual reality.

For instance, Microsoft Teams is about to transition to 3D in January, with the launch of an VR meeting experience powered by Mesh that will be available on Meta’s Quest headsets. The Metaverse is slowly starting to arrive.
