Kia has officially launched its first electric sedan, the EV4, in South Korea, where orders are now being accepted at an enticing starting price of under $30,000.
This marks a significant step for the automaker, as it aims to diversify its electric vehicle lineup amidst a growing market demand for budget-friendly EVs.
Designed to offer an impressive driving range, the EV4 boasts the longest mileage of any Hyundai Motor Group EV, achieving over 330 miles (approximately 533 km) on a single charge.

First unveiled as a concept in October 2023, the EV4 has quickly gained attention for its sleek, aerodynamic design, achieving an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.23.
This innovative engineering allows the vehicle to maximize its range, making it not only a practical choice for consumers but also a potential game-changer in the electric sedan market.
The long-range model is equipped with an 81.4 kWh battery, while the standard variant uses a 58.3 kWh battery that offers up to 237 miles (382 km) of driving range.
The EV4 is part of Kia’s ambitious ‘EVs for all’ strategy, with plans to offer a range of electric vehicles priced between $30,000 and over $80,000, targeting various market segments.
Following the success of their electric SUVs like the EV5 and EV3, Kia is now looking to capitalize on the sedan segment, which has recently been overshadowed by SUV popularity.
Incorporating advanced technology, the EV4 is equipped with Kia’s new ccNC infotainment system featuring dual 12.3-inch displays. A unique “interior mode” allows for customizable seating and lighting, enhancing the user experience.
As the EV4 prepares for a global rollout in the coming months, industry insiders and consumers alike will be watching closely to see how it performs in markets outside of Korea.
