Sonic is a movie saga that, beyond appealing to the children’s audience, is conquering everyone with an adaptation like few times seen in the world of video games. And a big part of the blame for its success lies with the actors it has: great figures from Hollywood who are willing to be part of this world.
In the first movie, Jim Carrey made his debut as the evil Doctor Robotnik, a villain he reprised in the second movie and proved that Carrey’s charisma is timeless. The second movie also featured someone very special: Idris Elba voiced Knuckles, and he will reprise the role in his own series. And for the third movie, they have just signed another very special actor: Keanu Reeves.
Shadow now has its own voice
Reeves is currently one of the biggest action stars in the company thanks to John Wick, and with his signing in Sonic 3 his legend continues to grow. In the movie, he will voice Shadow, another Sonic villain that we will presumably see a very interesting evolution of. The movie will be released in theaters on December 20, 2024.
