This model will make its official debut on February 27, and its presence has recently been confirmed with images showing this innovative van at a charging station in Indiana, United States, something unprecedented until now.

The PV5 is part of Kia’s new PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) platform, which is considered a total mobility solution, allowing modifications for various uses beyond the traditional concept of vehicles.

What the PV5 will offer Kia customers

The availability of various configurations will allow the PV5 to not only serve as passenger transport but also as a mobile workshop with delivery options and a chassis cab reminiscent of a pickup truck.

With dimensions that place it as a medium-sized model, the PV5 is larger than the ID.Buzz, and its size is similar to the Ford E-Transit. Although the ID.Buzz measures 4.96 meters in length, the PV5 Cargo Compact, in its basic version, reaches 4.5 meters.

However, the images suggest that the captured model could be a larger variant intended for passenger transport.

Kia previously highlighted the PV5 model during CES and it was presented in September at the IAA Transportation in Europe.

The company is generating expectations by sharing more details about its PBV strategy and the launch timelines for the PV5 at its upcoming EV Day event, where the new line of electric models will also be presented, including the EV4 and the EV2. This series of launches reinforces Kia’s position in the competitive electric vehicle market.
