Last year, Elden Ring became the best video game of 2022 on its own merits. The adventure developed by From Software made millions of users around the world fall in love with its visit to the Midlands, players who are eager, once the adventure is over, to get their hands on its next and first DLC: Shadow of the Erdtree. The key? It may not be the only one.

Kadokawa Corporation, From Software’s parent company, presented its fiscal results during the early hours of this morning. In this document, the Japanese company comments that Elden Ring’s sales have been reduced after its successful launch during the past 2022, but that they will try to “maximize the life cycle” of Elden Ring with “several measures“. And here comes the question mark.

We have confirmed downloadable content to date, but this is the first time we hear from From Software’s owner that there are “various measures“. Here can enter points of all kinds, from a strong price reduction to, as is most logical, bring out more DLCs of the already announced before users.

Precisely, regarding this last point, Kadokawa is very clear about the importance of Shadow of the Erdtree. To give us an idea, in the financial report it is highlighted as a priority within From Software. How high a priority? Well, even one point ahead of Armored Core 6, the studio’s next big release this month. Yes, the Elden Ring DLC has more importance in the economic scheme than its next game.

At the moment, we still have no date for Shadow of the Erdtree, but what this document makes clear is that we are going to have Elden Ring for a while.
