It’s clear that the One Piece live-action adaptation is generating a lot of buzz. The series has become a big hit, and Netflix wasted no time in renewing it for a second season just two weeks after its release. Over eight episodes, we’ve seen the anime come to life, and the beloved characters embark on their early adventures.

However, we haven’t seen everything in One Piece… or at least we haven’t noticed it. As reported by Screen Rant, there’s a hidden character in the series that we’ve all overlooked. And it’s no surprise. This character appears where no one expects it: as an Easter egg in the closing credits of the last episode.

Who is Kong, the hidden character in One Piece?

The credits of One Piece draw inspiration from what Game of Thrones did and show a map, in this case, the East Blue, where islands are added as episodes progress. And in the last episode, something unexpected appears: the creator of this map. Specifically, a label is added with the phrase “Created for the Marines of the East Blue, by order of Commander-in-Chief Kong.” But who is this character?

Despite not having much relevance in the series and not really crossing paths with the Straw Hat Pirates, Kong is a significant character in One Piece. He was the Fleet Admiral and held that position during the Battle of Edd War, the historic naval battle between the Golden Lion Pirates and Gol D. Roger’s Pirates.

As Commander-in-Chief, Kong holds even more power than an admiral, as he has authority over both the Marines and the Cipher Pol and the Seven Warlords. He serves as a link between these powers and is only surpassed in the hierarchy of the World Government by the Five Elders and Imu.

But does this mean we will see him in One Piece soon? Well, it doesn’t seem like the series’ plans are heading in that direction, especially considering that we still need to see Smoker and many other Marines. However, in One Piece, anything can happen.
