Rainbow Six Siege has achieved a feat that not many games can boast of: staying active for nine years. For now, the FPS continues to enjoy excellent health and Ubisoft has no plans to stop supporting it. However, veteran players are starting to wonder if it’s time for Siege to receive a sequel. For its creative director, Alexander Karpazis, the answer is clear: a “no” as big as a cathedral.

“I can confidently say that we have one of the best engines in the world when it comes to live PVP shooters,” Karpazis said in a group interview conducted at the Siege Invitational 2024 in Brazil. “The team is incredible, and we have a huge team […] that improves every month the way we can deliver content faster, more robust and stable.”

According to PCGamer, Karpazis, who joined the team in 2018, believes that the idea of developing a sequel for Rainbow Six Siege is unnecessary and would be a big mistake. “The idea of switching engines to something that can be ready out of the box simply does not meet the needs of a game as competitive and demanding as Siege […] I won’t name names, but you see titles that have had sequels and have been completely left behind because they have to redo everything they did in the first game.”

So, regarding Karpazis, do not expect the release of a sequel to Rainbow Six Siege neither now nor in the near future.
