Microsoft Designer, Microsoft’s application focused on graphic design with Artificial Intelligence, has recently announced that its platform will have official support for the generative AI DALL-E 3. This AI is responsible for automatically generating images based on text commands that guide the system in creating an image according to the given instructions.
This announcement has been made through X (the application formerly known as Twitter), and this addition will allow users to use Artificial Intelligence tools to generate images directly through the Microsoft platform.
Microsoft takes the hand of AI
It is a fact that Microsoft is placing a significant emphasis on enhancing Artificial Intelligence across its applications and platforms. Microsoft Designer is proof of this, now also featuring support for DALL-E. This commitment is further evident in the company’s current efforts to expand the capabilities of Copilot.
Microsoft Copilot, in fact, is another major asset for the company’s productivity enhancements. It can be implemented in Microsoft Teams, the default Windows browser, Microsoft Edge, and even in its messaging platform, Outlook. With its GPT-4-based system, it can carry out various commands through a chat window.
The discord of generative content
However, this leaves Microsoft in a quite exposed position in terms of reputation since generative AIs, especially those creating images based on web content, are among the most criticized models of Artificial Intelligence. This criticism stems from both the unfair competition their existence implies and the training carried out using web content without regard for profit motives or exploitation rights.
Artificial Intelligence has come, if not to stay, to establish itself for a considerable period. Therefore, it is reasonable to expect various changes in the business landscape across many sectors due to the cost savings in human capital that these systems entail. The United States is already beginning to regulate them, and in the European Union, there are privacy regulations that restrict some of their potential. However, there is still a need to establish a legal framework that adequately protects workers.
