Minecraft Legends is a cross-platform action and strategy video game that was released in April 2023 and has been co-developed by Mojang Studios, owned by Microsoft, and Blackbird Interactive. Over the past few months, the latest installment of one of the best-selling video game franchises in the world has been receiving occasional content… until now.

In a blog post on Minecraft’s blog, Mojang Studios states that the development of Minecraft Legends has come to an end. “Since the release, we have listened to the feedback from the community and have implemented a series of changes and adjustments to improve the game. Once this is done, we will take a step back in development,” wrote Cristina Anderca, Senior Creative Writer at Mojang.

The latest new content for the game arrives this month in the form of a new Lost Legends challenge called Snow vs. Snouts, as well as a free skin called Bright-Eyed Hero, which can already be obtained in the Minecraft Legends Market.

Although no more content will be developed for the game, Minecraft Legends will continue to receive support in the near future. “Our existing Lost Legends challenges will continue to be available for free, and you will still be able to obtain the rewards if you emerge victorious,” said Mojang. “Of course, we will continue to offer technical support to players, and we will not remove any functionality or feature of the game.”

PvP and cooperative modes will also continue to be fully functional, so you can keep playing whether you prefer to face the piglins on your own or fight alongside (or against) your friends.”

Mojang also ended support for Minecraft Dungeons in September 2023, a dungeon crawler co-developed with Double Eleven that was released in May 2020 and attracted 25 million players, according to the studio.
