“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is the next big series that Disney Plus is preparing to reach audiences of all ages. Rick Riordan’s books already had a previous adaptation, but the author didn’t like it at all. So, the streaming platform has teamed up with Riordan himself to create this new adaptation that will come in the form of a series.

The Percy Jackson fiction will arrive on Disney Plus on December 20th, and it will consist of two episodes initially, which will later be released weekly. So far, we have seen quite a few images of the cast and all the confirmed names. But now, more images have been revealed showcasing the most important characters of the series: the gods.

In the new images of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, we can see the late Lance Reddick as Zeus, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, Jay Duplass as Hades, Adam Copeland as Ares, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes. Additionally, we have received a few more images of the rest of the characters. You can see them below.

The series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” tells the story of a world where the Olympian gods exist. Percy Jackson discovers that he is the son of Poseidon and is embarked on a quest to find Zeus’s lightning bolt, which has been stolen. His goal is to prevent a war among the gods, and this is just the first of the many adventures the protagonist experiences.

Beyond its epic and family-friendly story, part of Percy Jackson’s appeal lies in its representation. The series features characters with ADHD, members of the LGBTQ+ community, feminist messages, and representation of various ethnicities, among other aspects. This inclusivity makes it a very modern series adapted to our times, and it makes perfect sense for the series to be brought to life.
