We expect Apple to release several new iPads and also an update for the MacBook Air in a few months. According to Mark Gurman’s publication, March – specifically the end of March – could be the month when the company decides to make the releases. This actually fits with the usual schedule of a spring event and it could bring us a new iPad Air, an impressive new iPad Pro, and probably two new MacBook Airs.

iPad Air: more size and more power to choose from

The iPad Air line, known for its balance between performance and portability, is ready to receive a more significant update. According to Gurman, we can expect Apple to introduce a new model with a 12.9-inch screen, in addition to updating the current 10.9-inch model.

Among the rumored features for the new iPad Air models are the Apple M2 chip, which promises faster performance, a redesign in the rear camera setup, support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Although no major external changes are anticipated, these improvements alone will represent a significant leap from the current fifth-generation iPad Air with the M1 chip, released in March 2022.

iPad Pro: big changes in the screen and better performance

The 11 and 13-inch models of the iPad Pro are also at the center of rumors, as they are expected to be the first iPads equipped with OLED screens. A technology that, as we have already seen in iPhones, offers numerous advantages such as higher brightness, more vibrant colors, superior contrast ratio, and lower power consumption compared to current models with LCD panels.

In addition, we expect them to include the M3 chip, wireless charging through MagSafe, a redesigned Magic Keyboard with a larger trackpad and an aluminum top case, and a front camera repositioned to be placed on the long edge of the iPad, remaining at the top with the device in horizontal. In addition to a slightly higher price, mainly due to the new display, we also expect changes in the design of the rear camera, similar to those of the upcoming iPad Air.

MacBook Air: more power in Apple’s most portable laptop

Regarding the MacBook Air, it is expected that the 13 and 15-inch models will be updated simultaneously this March, marking a change from their previous staggered releases. The main update in these new laptops will be Apple’s M3 chip.

With the M3 chip, the upcoming models of MacBook Air will significantly improve graphics rendering, thanks to hardware acceleration of ray tracing and mesh shading. A more accurate representation of lighting, reflections, and shadows that already arrived on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro and the 24-inch iMac last year.

These releases represent a further step in the evolution of two important product lines. With new larger iPad Airs, improved displays on the iPad Pro, and an even more capable MacBook Air, the outlook in Apple’s most portable sector looks really good.
