No, seriously, you enjoy hurting other human beings, don’t you? I know it, you know it, that’s how it is. You clicked on this article out of curiosity to find out about that “violent video game” I was referring to, eagerly wanting to indulge in violence and silence the voices that torment you inside. Well, either that or because you’re interested in video games. Yes, it must be that.

Well, whether you ever played it or if you wished to do so, Devolver Digital announced this week the release of the bloody saga Hotline Miami on the next-generation consoles. This way, the publisher provides native support on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for both Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.

Released in 2012 and 2015 respectively, in Hotline Miami 1 and 2, players assume the roles of different characters who, for one reason or another, decide that violence is the only answer. Whether out of obligation and/or pleasure, the protagonists must eliminate all enemies in their path and face the trail of corpses they leave behind after completing each level.

Up until now, both of Devolver Digital‘s titles could be played seamlessly thanks to the compatibility of Xbox Series X|S and PS5 with the existing versions for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, now the games can be played natively on the next-gen consoles, taking advantage of the features of both systems.

In addition to native support, the next-generation versions of the Hotline Miami saga will also include new achievements on Xbox Series X|S and new trophies on PlayStation 5. And if that wasn’t enough, players who already own the previous generation versions will receive a completely free update to the new versions.

All of this, as many will assume, also applies to Hotline Miami Collection, the compilation of both games released in both physical and digital formats. So, if you want to unleash violence in a way that doesn’t harm anyone in the real world, now you have the perfect excuse. I know you’re eager to do it.
